Operation: RADIANT - Update

I haven't given up on my 2011 goal of finding my authentic, beautiful, radiant self and being the person I want to be both inside and out. Yes, I was handed a huge challenge in the form of a mild traumatic brain injury, but I haven't let it stop me. I'm still not back to 100%, physically or mentally, and it's going to take some work to regain the level of fitness I was at pre-injury, but I know I can do it. I've done it before.

The main thing I wanted to share with you all today is that I finally accomplished one of the last things on my list that I made over two years ago. As of yesterday I have blue streaks in my hair!!!

I love it!! I've seriously been wanting to do it since I was 18. I told the hairdresser that and she said, "Well it's about freaking time!!" I agree. Despite everything I've been through this year, having blue hair has taken me one big step closer to RADIANT.

I've also dropped more weight, though I expect to gain once I can start working out in full force. I think I've mainly lost muscle tone, but I'm down to 141lbs. Hard for me to believe. 155lbs was my "let's be sensible about this" goal, 145lbs was my "ultimate" goal, and now I'm below that. Wow.

How are you all doing? Still working on letting your inner lights shine?? I hope so.

Hiya!

As usual, my apologies for the lack of posts. Life has been busy! And good. Yesterday I hit TWO Goodwills in one day. They were having a "half off entire store" sale, and I had a blast. I spent about $50 and got a ton of great stuff, including...

This fork.

Yep. I bought a fork. Silly, right? I agree, but I found it and I like it and now it's mine! I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes something as silly as your own personal, pretty fork can make a difference in your eating habits and change the way you enjoy food. I love all things teal and turquoise, and looking at and using this fork makes me happy. And I believe it cost me one whole quarter. And as far as forks go it's pretty cool. It's a Fiesta fork.

In other news, my new diet is going well. Well, it goes well throughout the week and then I tend to cave on the weekend and eat things I shouldn't. But this last weekend I stuck with it. I'm trying really hard to stick with it 100% for at least the next two months. I am starting to see a difference in my skin and I want to continue to.

I was wanting some dessert the other night so I had this:

Half an acorn squash with coconut oil and sea salt. It was so good I forgot to take a picture until I'd finished it. And obviously I hadn't yet bought my special fork and had to make do with a plain old spoon.
In more other news, I joined and am now addicted to Pinterest. But I must say, it's made me more stylish! I am giving more thought to my outfits each day, and trying to make sure that what I wear feels good and reflects ME. That's cool. And fun. Do you Pin?
